About Mrs. Bray

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to 3rd grade! I am so excited to get to know you and your student this year. I know this will be a fun and successful year!

This is my 8th year teaching and my 2nd year at Life School. I am married and have three girls at home, they will be in to 8th, 7th and 5th grade this year at LSK Elementary and Maypearl Intermediate in Maypearl school district, and their big brother who is currently serving in the army. As a family we love to travel, play cards, and watch movies.

Make sure that you are staying connected this year!

Here are a few ways to do so.

  • Sign up for a Bloomz account and use code NUCWDB to join for class newsletters, announcements and important updates.
  • Sign up for the parent portal to view your child’s grades. This can be done through the Life School website at
  • Be sure to check your child’s Take Home Folder daily.

My door is always open. If you have something to share, please don’t hesitate to send a note with your child or email me at:

I am excited for this year and cannot wait to get to know your student and watch them learn and grow in their successes!

We take our formal assessments next week and I wanted to post the reading that we do in science for each unit the students will be taking a test on, they can read them at home as a refresher and we will review at school!

Last couple of weeks work

Good afternoon,
Attached is some of what your student has been working on in Math, Science and S.S for my homeroom.
Math- is mostly in our math books, we learned perimeter and area and next week will start on lapsed time next week. Word problems for time will look similar to - "Larry starts studying at 5:30 each day and studies for 45 minutes. When does Larry stop? "
By the end of the unit we want the students to know,
- the difference between a digital and analog clock
- what the hands on an analog clock represent
- how many minutes equal an hour
-  the hour hand and the minute hand
-  way to distinguish between the hour hand and the minute hand
Science, we are currently learning about natural resources, renewable and non-renewable. Next we learn about the Sun and after that the solar system.
Social Studies we have spent the month talking about financial literacy such as goods and services, resources, saving, and trade. Next week we will begin to learn about famous monuments in America.
Today we had birthday Friday and Club Friday so we were only able to get to about 4 of our presentations for our projects. Everyone got credit for being on time and we will finish up presentations on Monday.
Enjoy your weekend,
 Erin Bray

01/06 Weekly Work

Happy New Year!
Attached is some of what the students are seeing in my math and science class and social studies for my homeroom. For math we work a lot more in our math books which stay in the class, that is why you won't see so much math in the file.
Social Studies does have a project but I promise it is fun and easy and depending on what your child is doing it could be done all at school.
Thank you for everything you do,
 Erin Bray

Recipe Form in todays take home folder

Today we sent home a Sodexo Future Chefs Recipe Entry Form with all of your students. Participation in this event is optional for students, but if they would like to participate, they should fill out the Recipe Entry Form imagining their favorite recipe that they would like to see in our school lunches. They will need to title the recipe, list the ingredients and exact amounts, and list out the method for how to prepare the dish. These forms are due by December 16. Sodexo staff will look through the entries and pick out 3 campus finalists by January 10. If chosen, students will get to go to the High School on February 28 to prepare their dish for the Sodexo staff! Pretty cool stuff!
