About Mrs. Adames

Hi! My name is Leigh Ann Adames. I have a bachelors degree in Human Development and Family Studies with an emphasis on Early Childhood Education from Texas Tech University. I also hold a certification in ESL (English as a Second Language) This is my twenty-first year of teaching and my fifteenth year at Life School Red Oak. I live in Red Oak with my husband of 18 years, Sal and our three children, ages 14, 10 and 4. We are the ultimate “soccer family”. Not only is my husband the Director of Coaching with the Dallas Texans South Soccer Club, but my two oldest play competitively as well.
My favorite thing about teaching Kindergarten is helping each little one grow tremendously in one year. It amazes me how they mature in both their academic and social aspects of life.

Summer Is Here

We have worked so hard this year. I am proud of how much my kinder friends have grown:) I hope you all have a wonderful summer!!! Please remember to continue to read and write daily. Set goals for both and help your child have a successful educational summer break. I hope you all come to say hello to me next year.

Last 9 WEEKS

We are pushing through this last nine weeks. Please continue to work with READING, WRITING and MATH. The partnership between school and home is very important. We are asking that all everyone reads at home daily. I would love for each student to write in a journal at least twice a week. Please continue to read the newsletter for updates.

I am looking forward to the new year. Our focuses this semester will build on the content from last semester. Growing our young writers and readers is an exciting job. We are jumping right into the new year learning all about maps, earning money, living and non-living things and making sure all my kiddos are successful.

Moving Forward the Next 9 weeks

Now that we have the first nine weeks under our belt, it's time to look ahead. I am requesting conferences with many parents for the next few weeks. We also have Parent/ Teacher conference day on the 21st of October. Please continue to work at home with letters/sounds, sight words, counting forward and backwards to 20 and instantly recognizing sets of numbers. Some exciting things to look forward to this nine weeks: Field trip to the zoo on Nov. 6 and our Thanksgiving Feast!!

Off to a great start!

We are off to a great start in our class!! Each child is working on writing, reading, recognizing numbers 1-20. Keep up the good work and practice at home.
